In Loving Memory
On June 5, 2024, Aya Nasrallah passed away after a year-long battle with cancer, returning to her Lord and leaving behind her parents, two brothers and scores of people who loved and admired her. Aya was not only a devout and deeply spiritual Muslim, she was a compassionate, caring and attentive person who put the needs of others above her own. A truly blessed individual is one who spreads goodness and positivity to others, Aya was the definition of this and she lived every day embodying this quality. She always had a smile on her face and always showed concern for others over herself, even in the most difficult of times. Aya was deeply passionate about psychology and how it can be implemented within an Islamic framework, especially to address the mental health needs of Muslims in North America. She was working on her doctorate in psychology and simultaneously involved in various initiatives that sought to disseminate important information and provide critical mental health services to the communities.
Today, PSYCHED4U is where it is because of her tireless efforts and dedication. The loss we feel from her passing is immense and the sadness is unrelenting. No one will ever be able to take her place, and so it is upon us to try our best to uphold her high Islamic values, sincere effort and pure goodness. We ask Allah to reward her great contributions and to have mercy upon her. Please recite a Surah al-Fatiha for her soul.
